You will be responsible for developing and executing email and text marketing campaigns designed to engage, nurture, and re-engage prospective students throughout the admissions journey. You’ll work closely with the marketing and enrollment management teams to craft conversion-focused content, segment audiences, and analyze campaign performance.
This role combines strategy, copywriting, automation setup, and data-driven optimization.
Key Responsibilities
Plan, build, and deploy email campaigns (individual, drip series, and automated workflows) that drive measurable actions such as:
Schedule a campus tour or admissions call
Attend an open house or event
Apply or complete an enrollment step
Create and send SMS/text campaigns to complement email outreach (~25% of workload).
Segment audiences by lead type, program interest, and funnel stage (new leads, re-inquiries, inactive leads, applicants, etc.).
Design, test, and optimize email templates using brand-approved layouts (we use a mix of platforms such as Constant Contact, GoHighLevel, and Mailchimp).
Write high-conversion copy with clear calls-to-action that align with the campaign goal.
Implement automations for follow-ups, reminders, and milestone-based messaging using marketing automation or CRM tools.
Monitor performance metrics (open rates, CTRs, conversions, unsubscribes) and report results with actionable recommendations.
Coordinate with marketing team to ensure consistent messaging across email, SMS, and digital advertising campaigns.
Manage list hygiene and compliance (CAN-SPAM, TCPA, opt-outs, etc.).
Qualifications
3+ years of experience in email marketing, CRM automation, or lifecycle marketing (education or lead-generation experience preferred).
Proficiency with one or more email automation tools (e.g., Mailchimp, Constant Contact, GoHighLevel, ActiveCampaign, HubSpot).
Working knowledge of SMS/text campaign tools (e.g., Twilio, SimpleTexting, GoHighLevel, etc.).
Strong copywriting skills with a persuasive, student-centric tone.
Experience with lead nurturing and re-engagement strategies.
Ability to analyze performance metrics and make data-driven improvements.
Understanding of marketing automation logic, segmentation, and drip workflows.
Detail-oriented, organized, and proactive communicator.
Bonus: Experience in higher education, admissions, or lead generation funnels.
