As well as Carson Roney, a content creator and former Shawnee State University shooting guard and former collegiate tennis player Rachel Stuhlman. Through Erin's efforts, they've landed partnerships with brands like Gatorade, Lululemon and Peloton. Katie Hoffman

General Counsel, OPENDORSE

Katie Hoffman is General Counsel for Opendorse, a Lincoln Nebraska company and leader in the Name, Image and Likeness (NIL) industry. In her role, Katie is developing the legal department to navigate intercollegiate athletics, multimedia marketing, technology, and the role of NIL across the sports’ industry. As General Counsel, Katie manages all aspects of legal issues that arise within a technology firm, as well as negotiating the ever-developing rules and laws of NIL. Katie has had vast experience in nearly all areas of athletics, starting her career in the athletics department at the University of Oklahoma where she held a number of positions from compliance to human resources to sponsorship and marketing. Upon leaving OU, she worked for the Kansas City Chiefs where she oversaw partnership activation, working directly with all corporate partners as well as managing the review and implementation of all business contracts. After the Chiefs, Katie worked briefly for what was then known as “NACWAA” to assist with their transition and name change to Women Leaders in College Sports, to what is now known as Women Leaders in Sports. While at Women Leaders Katie oversaw all Sponsorships, advised on legal issues including trademark and contractual issues and helped manage the team of associates. After Women Leaders, Katie headed to NASCAR where she oversaw all sponsorship and marketing agreements, working directly with NASCAR sponsors such as Coke, Anheuser Busch, American Express, Monster and many others. She also advised on International Business and events, negotiating agreements to take NASCAR international and worked on various entertainment agreements. Following NASCAR, she was hired by Opendorse as the first ever in house counsel. At Opendorse Katie has implemented legal structure and provides guidance to the team on all aspects of contracts from direct agreements with brands to advising on NCAA Policy and rules and regulations that must be followed by athletes and brands and all other strategic initiatives Opendorse must be part of. Katie was honored by the NFL as one of 36 female executives in the league at the inaugural Women in the NFL Leadership Symposium. Katie is a member of the California, Nebraska and Illinois Bar Associations and has worked as an Adjunct Professor teaching various Sports and Marketing classes for the past 10 years. She has also been an active swim coach in her local communities. Katie has a J.D. degree from the University of Miami School of Law, an M.Ed with an emphasis in Intercollegiate Athletics Administration from the University of Oklahoma and a B.S.B.A from the University of Nebraska, where she was a Letterwinner, multi-time Academic All-Big XII recipient, and a two time Big 12 Champion with the Husker Women’s Swim Team.
