The author of international bestseller INFLUENCER: Building Your Personal Brand In The Age Of Social Media, she built the influencer departments at Horizon Media (2014) and Hearst Magazines Digital Media (2016). Sensing the shift to creator commerce Brittany led the creator relations team at Collective Voice (formerly ShopStyle Collective) and is currently the head of education and community at HOWL. A creator economy evangelist, her current passion project is the F.A.M.E. Social Club, an online and IRL community for Founders, Artists, Media, and Experts. Ashley is the first-ever Global Chief Creator Officer at creator company Whalar. Creators are the heart and soul of Whalar, and Ashley and her team advocate for all talent in all aspects of their careers and how they engage with brands and social platforms - from the equity in pay to keeping humanity and heart throughout the entire experience. In this new role, Ashley is responsible for all global creator sourcing, identification, and execution, including negotiations, contracts, and creative consultation on all creator-led campaigns. With 20+ years of experience in digital branding and driving brand awareness through engagement, Ashley has a proven track record in promoting up-and-coming creators and consumer loyalty, as well as delivering some of the best in-class campaigns at the forefront of the Creator Economy including Martha Stewart’s iconic debut on TikTok for Clé de Peau Beaute that went on to win Awards at the Campaign BIG Awards, Streamy Awards, The Drum Social Media Awards, the PR Daily Content Marketing Awards and CMA International Content Marketing Awards in 2022 & 2023, among others. Prior to joining Whalar, Ashley was Assistant Vice President of Strategy and Content at Lashify, where she led and managed digital content operations for print, streaming, and events. Before that, Ashley served as Director, Digital Content and Artistry M·A·C Cosmetics, where she oversaw the brand’s global digital presence across all global social platforms. While at M·A·C Cosmetics, Ashley’s leadership contributed to M·A·C becoming the first beauty brand to launch on IGTV and one of the most prominent beauty brands on Instagram overall. Ashley’s career at M·A·C Cosmetics spans 20 years. Before her role as Director, Digital Content and Artistry, she was a Senior Artist, where she supported the brand’s North American business, including bringing to life makeup and fashion trends during New York, London, Milan, and Paris Fashion Week. Additionally, Ashley is the Co-Founder of Haus of SÔS, a bi-coastal creative firm specializing in digital media and visual branding. A creative visionary at heart, Ashley’s deep understanding of market trends and buyer psychology has made her a sought-after expert in the creator economy. In addition, her knowledge and expertise in beauty marketing, diversity, equity, and inclusion have been published in top-tier publications like BuzzFeed, Vogue.com, Refinery29, and others. She holds a BBA from Northwood University and resides in LA with her daughter and husband.
